WRITING  AN IMPACTFUL SPEECH
Speeches are potentially one of the most powerful communication tools. However, writing a speech for your boss always appears to be a daunting task. What do you want them to say? What style suits them? What should be their message to their audience? So many questions bother you before you start writing that speech.

Capturing a voice that is not your own certainly has its challenges, but it is indeed rewarding listening to an impactful speech that you have written, and knowing that it resonates with an engaged audience.

EFFECTIVE WRITING SKILLS

PR and communication practitioners write on the job all the time - proposals to clients, press releases and media pitches, memos to senior executives, a constant flow of emails to colleagues. Often, they may not have time to write effectively, and think that improving their writing is a tedious or even frivolous exercise.

On the contrary, clear thinking and writing are the most important skills for PR and communications personnel.

Do you struggle to write clearly to present your ideas, opinions, and vital information? Do you face difficulty in communicating effectively to persuade and convince others to take a course of action? This interactive workshop will provide valuable skills and tips to do your job more effectively and professionally.

WRITING PRESS RELEASES

Why do most press releases flop? Often, we send out information about a new product or event thinking that is all that is needed to get it in the news, only to find it was never mentioned at all. There are many reasons for this – from no newsworthy angle, not providing enough information to providing too much information, overselling it in an off-putting way, sending it to the wrong person or platform, or even just competing with the more important news of the day.  Press releases still remain as one of the most effective ways to reach your organisation’s various stakeholders. A well-crafted press release will help communicate your intended messages, but it should first grab the attention of the media, to be picked up and reported by them. Only then will your intended message reach your target audience.

COMMUNICATING SUSTAINABILITY

It is a common trend today for both multinationals, local companies, and various organisations to use their influence to improve social and environmental well-being. This has made communicating sustainability or impact relations more critical. One clear strategy is communicating your positive change management and impact on the environment and your contributions to climate change goals.

Sustainability communication is a pivot in business, social and environmental innovation. It is the practice of widely sharing messages, stories and ideas that result in positive impact. It strives on transparent, authentic, meaningful and resonant communications to inspire stakeholders with substantive commitment to social, environmental and ethical responsibility.
